I’m Jakob McMillin – a storm chaser and game developer. I was born in Illinois but grew up in the state of Missouri in the greater St. Louis area. At nine years old, I began teaching myself how to program, and by eighteen I had turned that interest into a career building video games.

At the same time, I’ve always been fascinated by thunderstorms and severe weather. From doodling tornadoes on kindergarten homework to staying up way too late watching storm chase footage, weather has been a constant fascination. When I turned eighteen, I moved out to Seward, Nebraska for college – and within a week of living there, I had seen my first two tornadoes. That was the moment storm chasing became more than just an interest.

Now based in Northern Colorado, I spend much of the year in pursuit of severe weather. Over the years, I’ve documented over 200 tornadoes. This site is a collection of those experiences.
